Eyeliner

What is Permanent Eyeliner?
Permanent eyeliner frames the eyes and can make eyelashes appear thicker, darker and fuller. It may eliminates the need to apply eyeliner with makeup. It can enhance the shape or balance the symmetry of your eyes, create the illusion of larger eyes, or affect how the spacing of the eyes is perceived. Permanent eyeliner can also enhance or intensify eye color and make eyes appear brighter.

For those who prefer a more natural look, lash enhancement is applied along the base of the lashes making it appear as though you have full and thick lashes.

For those who desire a more dramatic look, classic eyeliner eyeliner will be a thicker “smokier”.

Can I choose different type of eyeliner?

Yes! There is lash enhancement, which involves adding the pigment between the layers of your eyelashes to darken your lash line, leaving you with a subtle lash enhancement.  This option is a lot [thinner] than an eyeliner, and it’s considered very natural-looking.

The eyeliner application, the pigment is actually applied above the lash line and it’s drawn almost as if you were to put a liquid eyeliner on. It’s mostly for people who wear that look on a daily basis and they want to stop having to do it.

How long does the procedure take?

The first procedure takes approximately 3 hours, the 6 weeks touch up is about 1.5 hours.

What about the pain? Does it hurt?

The eyeliner or lash line procedure is more psychologically scary to most clients than anything else. The discomfort is relative as everyone has a different level of sensitivity. A topical lidocaine is applied to the eyelids for numbing prior, and anesthetic is applied during the procedure. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the duration of the procedure.

What will I look like immediately after?

There will be swelling typically for the first 24-72 hours. While the swelling starts going down right away and most people are back to normal by the following morning, plan on 48 hours of staying low key to be safe! The colour will appear darker the first week, but will gradually lighten and may possibly scab.

What’s the healing process like?

The eyeliner should generally heal within three to ten days.  Once you get your eyeliner applied, there’s really no down time. You can leave and go about your daily tasks and even drive yourself home. The one thing you can’t do is wear makeup, especially mascara (which is pretty much full of bacteria after the first use). You may experience some to minimal scabbing as your eyeliner heals, do not pick it off. You just notice little black flakes fall out of your eyelashes over the course of a couple days. You should definitely avoid touching or rubbing your eyes while they heal, so you don’t spread any germs or bacteria around the area, or disturb the healing process.

Why do my eyeliner look so dark during the healing process?
This is a result of the natural oxidation process that takes place in the skin once pigment has been implanted. The colour reacts slowly with oxygen in the air, turning it darker. This is a completely natural and normal occurrence for our pigments.

When will I see the final results?
A noticeable difference will be readily apparent immediately following the eyeliner procedure.  You will see your final results after the healing process is fully completed, usually in six weeks.

How long does it last? And if you hate it, will it ever fully disappear?

The “permanent make up” eyeliner typically lasts about one to three years. However, the pigment will eventually fade if you decide not wanting it anymore. Everyone’s skin holds the pigment differently, so it’s tough to say how long it will take for the liner to become invisible.

Can I have eyelash extension?

Remove them at least one week prior the treatment. If the extensions are removed too close to the appointment, there may be glue left behind or white heads between the lash line, which could interfere with the how well the skin absorb pigment. Lash extensions can be reapplied 4 weeks after the liner is healed.

Can I wear contact lenses?

If you wear contacts, it needs to take them out before the procedure. You should also be prepared not to wear them for a few days after. Your eyes may be a little swollen or tender following the application.

Can I get tattooed if I am pregnant or nursing?

As a precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant or nursing women.
